Kristiana is a Foresight and Prediction Specialist at Open Nuclear Network (ONN), where she works at the intersection of strategic foresight and forecasting to reduce nuclear risks.
Kristiana Nitisa develops and applies futures-oriented methodologies to help decision-makers navigate uncertainty, anticipate geopolitical developments and identify opportunities for preventive action. Her work includes designing and facilitating foresight exercises for international dialogues, conferences and multistakeholder engagements, enabling participants to explore emerging trends, alternative futures and their implications for nuclear risk reduction. She also conducts monthly forecasting cycles on nuclear risk-relevant questions, producing structured assessments that support strategic decision-making.
As a reflection of Kristiana’s interests in peacebuilding in journalism, she holds a BA in Peace and Conflict Studies from Malmö University and the University of Sydney and an MSc in Investigative Journalism from the University of Gothenburg. Her previous work experience includes research and communication roles working for various INGOs such as Platform for Peace and Humanity, Conducive Space for Peace, International Youths Organisation for Peace and Sustainability as well as Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime. As a freelance journalist, she has participated in cross-border investigative journalism projects across Europe, reporting on human rights abuses.
