Nuclear Safety Under Strain
Discussions of the DPRK’s nuclear programme typically focus on nuclear weapons, proliferation and regional security. Less attention has been paid to the safety and environmental risks associated with its expanding and ageing nuclear infrastructure, including radioactive waste management, uranium mining and milling, and climate-related stressors.
