At the Stanley Center Accelerator Symposium, on 23 October, Research Coordinator Nikita Degtyarev spoke at the Next Generation Round Table on Pre-launch Notifications (PLNs) and Nuclear Risk Reduction, where experts exchanged national perspectives on the historical and contemporary value and risks of PLNs, identifying common ground and brainstorming potential advances in risk reduction.
On the next day, on 24 October, Research Coordinator Elin Bergner organised a panel titled “Nuclear Risk Reduction on the Korean Peninsula: A Way Forward”, where Nikita Degtyarev was one of the speakers. The panellists offered diverse perspectives on the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, reflecting views from North Korea, Russia, South Korea, Sweden, and the United States. They also proposed several pathways to mitigate risks and advance nuclear risk reduction efforts in the region.
