On 26 May 2026, ONN Assistant Analyst and Coordinator Benjamin Ashraf was interviewed by the Algerian TV – AL24News, in a special discussion concerning the prospects for renewed diplomacy over Iran’s nuclear programme, arguing that both Washington and Tehran remain entrenched in positions that leave little room for meaningful compromise. However, he argued that Iran retains a key advantage: it can disrupt the Strait of Hormuz faster than the United States can stabilise it, a dynamic reflected in the forthcoming MoU and Tehran’s negotiating posture.
