Robert J. Einhorn named ONN Advisory Council Member Emeritus

Open Nuclear Network (ONN) is proud to recognise Robert J. Einhorn as Advisory Council Member Emeritus, honouring his longstanding contributions to ONN and his distinguished career advancing international security, arms control and nuclear non-proliferation.

Throughout his service on the ONN Advisory Council, Einhorn has provided invaluable guidance and strategic insight, drawing on decades of experience at the highest levels of diplomacy and policy.

As a Senior Fellow at the Center for Security, Strategy and Technology within the Foreign Policy programme at the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C, but also considering his long and distinguished experience in the U.S. Department of State as the Special Advisor for Nonproliferation and Arms Control, Assistant Secretary of State for Nonproliferation and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for PoliticalMilitary Affairs, Einhorn’s remarkable career in non-proliferation and arms control has been fundamental for ONN.

Recognising his contributions to ONN, Director Andreas Persbo said:

I have greatly valued Bob's advice throughout the years and often find myself reflecting on his contributions after our meetings. Please know that you remain a valued friend of ONN, and I very much hope we will stay in touch.

Ambassador Kent Härstedt, Chair of the Advisory Council, also expressed his appreciation:

Bob Einhorn's contributions to ONN have been deeply valued from the very beginning. He joined at a formative moment, when Laura Rockwood was shaping the Engagement Network and when ONN’s mission and methods were evolving. His experience, judgment and calm strategic perspective have been important to the organisation’s development, and I have always appreciated the thoughtful way he approached our discussions. On behalf of ONN, I thank Bob for his service, his insight and his collegiality. He will always be part of ONN’s history, and he will remain a valued friend of the organisation.

As Einhorn takes a step back from his role on the Advisory Council, he will continue to support ONN and its mission of reducing nuclear risk.

We are deeply grateful for Einhorn’s work and honoured to recognise him as an Advisory Council Member Emeritus.
