Event Overview
On 12 May, Open Nuclear Network (ONN), in partnership with Verification Research, Training and Information Centre (VERTIC) and the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), will present key findings from a multi-year project examining the DPRK’s nuclear fuel cycle and weaponisation capabilities.
Using innovative open-source methodologies, this research provides a detailed and independent assessment of North Korea’s nuclear programme. The session will explore the implications of these findings for verification and monitoring, as well as their relevance for any potential future negotiations. It will also consider how these analytical approaches can be applied beyond the DPRK context.
The event brings together leading experts in open-source analysis and non-proliferation:
- Christopher King (UNODA)
- Jaewoo Shin (ONN)
- Grant Christopher (VERTIC)
- Jeffrey Lewis (CNS)
