Elin Bergner

Research Consultant

Elin Bergner is a research consultant for Open Nuclear Network, a programme of One Earth Future. She works primarily on non-traditional security threats in the DPRK and DPRK sanctions. Prior to working with ONN, she was a research intern at the Korea Center of the Institute for Security and Development Policy in Stockholm in Sweden.

Elin holds a bachelor's degree in Social Anthropology from Lund University in Sweden, which included exchange semesters at the University of Sussex in the UK, the University of Linnaeus in Spain, the University of Hawaii in the USA and Kyung Hee University in South Korea. She is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in International Political Science with a specialization in global Asian studies at Stockholm University in Sweden. Elin is a recipient of the Nordic Institute of Asian Studies SUPRA scholarship during the spring semester of 2022.

Elin's research interests include international cooperation on disaster risk reduction and food security in the DPRK, broader northeast Asian peace development and civil society movements. She speaks Swedish, English, Spanish and Korean.
