Christine MUTTONEN is the Vice-President of the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES) and Co-President of Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (PNND). After teaching at a Higher Technical College, Christine Muttonen was elected to the Austrian Parliament in 1999, serving for 18 years (1999-2017), first as the spokesperson for Arts and Culture, later as spokesperson for EU and Foreign Affairs for the Social-Democrats. She also served as a member of the Council of Europe and the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE. In 2014, she was elected Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and appointed as Special Representative for Central and Eastern Asia. In 2016, she was elected to become the second woman to serve as President of the OSCE PA. Christine has participated in numerous election observation missions, including roles as head of mission and special coordinator during the elections in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in 2014 and the US elections in 2016.
