On 11-18 January, Open Nuclear Network (ONN) was pleased to contribute to the ISODARCO School during its landmark 60th anniversary edition—an important milestone for one of the field’s most respected communities of practice. ISODARCO has long been a special place and community for ONN. Many ONN staff and Advisory Council members have attended, contributed to or lectured at the course over the years, making ONN’s continued engagement especially meaningful.
As part of the programme, ONN’s Network and Engagement Specialist Kseniia Pirnavskaia led an interactive forecasting workshop for participants and lecturers, focused on nuclear risk–related developments and uncertainties looking ahead to 2026. The workshop drew on ONN’s forecasting and analytic approaches to support structured thinking about potential trajectories, key indicators, and decision-relevant signals in the nuclear risk environment. The exercise was prepared with extensive support from across ONN, with many team members contributing to its development, testing and refinement.
ONN was also pleased that Laura Rockwood, ONN Advisory Council member, contributed to the course with a lecture on the nuclear non-proliferation regime, bringing valuable expertise and perspective to the ISODARCO community.
ONN extends sincere thanks to ISODARCO School Director Carlo Schaerf and the course co-directors Francesca Giovannini (Harvard Belfer Center), Steve Miller (Harvard Belfer Center), and Poul Erik Christiansen (Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs) for the invitation and trust, and for including ONN’s interactive workshop as part of the programme. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to ISODARCO’s 60th anniversary edition and look forward to continued engagement with the ISODARCO community in the years ahead.
