As global tensions rise and militarisation accelerates, traditional security paradigms rooted in fear, force and deterrence are becoming increasingly unfit for today’s complex challenges. How can we reimagine security to reflect a more inclusive, cooperative and sustainable future? This public panel brings together leaders in nuclear diplomacy and international security to explore what rethinking security means in the 21st century. Designed for a wide audience, the event aims to raise awareness and spark critical dialogue around the urgent need for nuclear risk reduction in an evolving geopolitical landscape; the limitations of deterrence as a foundation for global stability; and innovative and inclusive approaches to peace and security. At the heart of this conversation is the essential role of women’s leadership—and broader diversity—in shaping forward-thinking, resilient and human-centered security frameworks.
