ONN attends TPNW 3rd Meeting of States Parties

ONN engaged at the TPNW 3rd Meeting of States Parties, with ONN's Olamide Samuel contributing expert insights on the “Third Nuclear Age” and holding high-level engagements on the margins of the meeting.

ONN was proud to contribute to critical conversations on nuclear disarmament during the Third Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

ONN’s Network and Engagement Specialist, Olamide Samuel, participated as a discussant at the side event on the “Third Nuclear Age,” co-organised by the University of Glasgow’s Atomic Anxiety in the New Nuclear Age project and Ward Wilson’s RealistRevolt initiative. The panel explored evolving perceptions of the so-called Third Nuclear Age and their implications for short- and medium-term nuclear policy. Olamide Samuel offered expert insights that enriched the discussion around global nuclear disarmament and policy reform.

In addition to this contribution, ONN conducted strategic engagements on the margins of the event, meeting with key stakeholders across the disarmament and diplomatic communities. Notably, Olamide Samuel met with Adedeji Ebo, Director and Deputy to the High Representative at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA). Their discussion focused on the importance of diplomacy, multilateral cooperation and strategic engagement in advancing nuclear disarmament objectives.

ONN, a programme of PAX sapiens, remains dedicated to fostering dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders to reduce nuclear risks.
