Melissa Hanham joined other experts for a panel discussion to share her perspective on issues of nuclear risk reduction in the Hague.

On March 3rd, 2020, Melissa Hanham, Deputy Director of One Earth Future's new Open Nuclear Network (ONN) programme, joined other international experts for a panel discussion to share her perspective on issues of nuclear risk reduction. The panel, entitled "Reducing the Risks of Nuclear Weapons Use" was hosted by The Clingendael Institute, the British American Security Information Council (BASIC) and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Nieuwspoort, the Hague.

Nuclear Risk Reduction

The topic of "nuclear risk reduction" or limiting the risk that nuclear weapons will be used on purpose or by accident, is central to the mission of One Earth Future's ONN programme. The ONN program will officially launch its work from a new office in Vienna on 10 March 2020, where it will leverage open source data compiled through our specially developed software platform, Datayo. ONN will produce informative briefs for decision makers, and is mobilizing an international network of trusted individuals known as the ONN Engagement Network to improve dialogue and de-escalate conflict that could lead to the use of nuclear weapons.
